As a no-till operation, one of the challenges Kelly has always had is getting his early beans to emerge through the thick layer of residue left behind from the previous year’s corn crop. He has installed a Yetter Stalk Devastators on his combine and ran a preliminary field test. So far the difference in the stover left behind is considerable, and he hopes this results in the cornstalks breaking down much faster over the winter.
