As growing populations increase, diseases thrive in the heat and humidity created by a canopy of tightly compacted plants.  Add in the crop stress created by competing for water and nutrients and it becomes the perfect environment for breeding of disease.  Proactive crop management is essential to keeping crop diseases from becoming yield limiting or even yield-killing factors. In this member video, Kevin and Chad explain how to identify some of the more common corn leaf diseases including gray leaf spot, northern leaf blight, southern leaf blight, common and southern rust, and tar spot. They also address the integrated approach for treatments and timing of applications.
