00:00 Hi, this is Kelly Garrett from Extreme Ag here today with Josh Thompson who works for us and great friend. He's also a volunteer fireman 00:08 for the Dallas City Volunteer Fire Department. We've got a great fire department here locally. Josh Richie, my good friend Joe, 00:15 they're all on the department. They've been out several times. Unfortunately we have experience with the fire department. 00:21 We've got the new Demco grain cart and one of the new advantages of the grain cart is the fire suppression system. 00:27 I don't know how many of you have ever been involved with a fire extinguisher before, but it just doesn't accomplish much. 00:33 You know, if you're in a combine fire about all that's gonna do is help you get off of the combine, but you're not gonna put the fighter out. 00:39 There's 300 gallons of water here, Josh. What's it take to turn this on? Turn a hydraulic lever on in the tractor, 00:46 then it'll continuously flow and then all it is is turn a nozzle. All is turn the nozzle. 00:53 So we're gonna put Josh back in the tractor. Bryce is gonna light a fire in the cornstalks and we're gonna time Josh getting out of the tractor. 01:02 Coming back here. We're seven miles from town. How long would it take for you to get out here? 10 minutes to get to town to get truck out 01:09 and another 10 minutes to get back. So we're seven miles from town and take Josh 20 minutes to get here. 01:15 If any of you have ever been involved in a combine fire or a field fire, 20 minutes is an eternity. So we're gonna see with the suppression system 01:23 how fast we can do it, how fast we're gonna get it out here. It's kind of a windy day. 01:27 Probably a little extreme to start a fire in a field, but that's what we're all about. Okay, walk out there just a little bit and start the fire. 01:47 That's good, Bryce. Okay. You ready Pat? Okay. Josh is kicked on the hydraulics. He's getting out of the tractor 02:24 that took 20 seconds. That took 20 seconds for him to get outta the tractor. Go back there and turn it on. Are you impressed? 02:34 Yeah, worked Great. Alright, turn it on. Let's see how far it blows. Kevin, Matthew said he thought it was 75 feet. 02:42 It's kind of windy today. I would say that's all 50 feet. You could be a safety distance away from 02:48 a combine to put it out. You know, I hope that, uh, I hope Murphy's Law kicks in here and I hope because we have this full on the side 02:55 of the grain cart that we don't have to use it, but every year there's a field fire somewhere. Last year Chad Henderson lost a combine. 03:02 We've had field fires. We've had house fires. You know, it, uh, it happens the, a couple years ago right over here, 03:09 the road ditch start on fire. Somebody threw a cigarette out. Yep. You know, so.
