Farming Video | Temple Rhodes Sees Big Plant Health Differences in Side-by-Side Corn Plots

00:00:00 Me and Gail and Beer are out here from Tidal Grow and we stopped Combine to get out because we're seeing it all throughout the field. 00:00:06 We've done two replicated plots so far. And um, this side would be the title Grow Side. And one of the things that we noticed was is the plant 00:00:15 health, um, is that due to the Spectra product that we, that we have out here trying to enhance some, some plant uh, health? 00:00:24 Uh, I think so. If you look at my grower standard practice, which is, I mean, in, in reality it's not a slump. 00:00:31 Um, at least I don't think it is. Maybe it is today, but what we see here is the tops aren't on as much. 00:00:37 Um, you look at the shininess and the healthiness of this plant, like the plants just look good. 00:00:44 There's a lot more disease on this side. Obviously stalks are broke up, it's falling down somewhat. Um, you know, it is late season. 00:00:51 We're getting ready to be looking at the first of of November here. So it is late season. The corn's dried down. 00:00:57 It's really, um, matured. So, but I cannot get over the plant health aspect. I mean we, we literally had to get outta the combine 00:01:06 to actually do this video because it's astounding the difference. Maybe the camera doesn't see it all, 00:01:11 but I'm telling you from our perspective, it's pretty incredible. Yeah, I think at Temple, you know, it does, 00:01:18 it does bring up. Part of the reason that you guys, uh, at extreme ag and you specifically have done tests 00:01:25 for us over the years is for things like this. I think if you were just in your combine and you hadn't done this test, 00:01:31 you probably wouldn't think too much about this other plot, would you? No, I wouldn't, I wouldn't have really realized it. 00:01:36 But like when you, when you, that's kind of the reason why when I make a phone call and we do the test plots, I invite all the sponsors out 00:01:45 and say You need to come and ride on the combine and see this because we just might find something. And these are the kind of things that you find 00:01:54 that you're not gonna get off of a piece of data off the data sheet because maybe this doesn't beat my grower standard practice, 00:02:03 but maybe I'm out here in hurricane alley with this hold up better than what this would, I can tell you right now. 00:02:09 It already has. So this is a big deal for when it comes to these things, there's these special little things 00:02:16 that you find that might help out. Some years it may pay off some years it may not. Scale beer is on the combine with Temple Roads. We are now harvesting the plot 00:02:40 that was all TD grow products and had Oceanic CFOs and Spectra corn's looking healthy here. The Eel monitor is consistently reading over 300 in this 00:02:54 supply, so seems to be doing pretty good tempo. What are you thinking? Well, you know, first of all, I wasn't sure 00:03:02 what to think about the product. 'cause when you first set the product and we go to put it out, I called you immediately 00:03:07 and was like, boy, this stuff smells funny. So I wasn't particularly thrilled with it. But I mean, um, we have a lot out here 00:03:16 and it's replicated twice and in this plot so far, um, you've beat me two out of two times so far, so, you know, 00:03:26 and it's been an increase. What was the first one? Uh, how many bushels were it? Six, seven bushels? It was 10. It was 10 bushel better. 00:03:34 10 bushels on the first one. So I mean, it's pretty impressive and it's going against my grower standard practice, 00:03:39 which it's not like my grower standard practice is anything like, it's not at all. 00:03:43 So, um, the product's doing really well. What I will say is it does look like the, the plants, it has more health to it. 00:03:51 Um, you know, and we're finding that out and that's one good thing that we can see when we're out here. 00:03:56 And you can actually visually see that from the combine. There's more tassels on the top, the plants more together, 00:04:02 it's a little bit more intact. So we are definitely seeing, um, some of those things. So, you know, we'll let you know 00:04:08 what the rest of these plot do. We, we get it all finished up. We'll just kind try to average it out. 00:04:13 But like so far I'm, I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Yeah, I think the thing I'm noticing Temple is just, uh, 00:04:20 you know, we're not seeing over 300 all the time, but what we are seeing is that, uh, we're seeing that yield monitor blink over 300 pretty often. 00:04:29 And so I think that's a good sign along 00:04:32.045 --> 00:04:33.845
