Farming Video | Chad Henderson Pushes Yield with Source on Double-Crop Beans

28 Jul 251m 38s

Chad Henderson of XtremeAg shares how he's leaning into the use of Source on his double-crop soybeans to push yield and performance in tight growing windows. Known for championing double-crop systems in the South, Chad explains how Source’s signaling chemistry helps boost nutrient uptake quickly—key when planting in June or even July and harvesting by October. With a one-ounce use rate and flexible tank-mix options, it fits easily into both herbicide and fungicide passes. Chad emphasizes the importance of low pH for optimal results and encourages farmers to test it on their own acres.

00:00:00 Hey y'all, this is Chad Henderson with Extreme Ag and we're standing here in the seed room today, you know, and, uh, we're looking at this product source 00:00:06 and we've used a good bit of it this year. We've used it over the years, you know, but this year has been a year 00:00:11 that we've put it into the program in a big way for corn and beans. Uh, the way that I'm really gonna look at it hard 00:00:17 that I haven't before is on double cropped beans. You know, we always, I'm the one always talking about double cropped beans, double cropped beans. 00:00:23 Well, it's something that we do in the south and that we need to push our envelope with to try to get the yield outta these things that we can. 00:00:30 The window is so short that we need products such as source to get the nutrient uptake faster into the plants. 00:00:37 You know, we're talking about planting these things in June. We're talking about gathering them October, 00:00:42 and June is at best. I mean, here it is, July. I'm gonna plant a few today. So what we're talking about 00:00:47 with source is it's a signaling chemistry, you know, is what it does. So it's signaling biology to pick up more nutrients 00:00:55 to the root system. So we're trying to get those nutrients into the root system better, and that's a lot what Source does. 00:01:02 It's a one ounce use rate, real low use rate. You can mix it with your herbicide, it can go with herbicide timing, it can go out with, uh, 00:01:08 fungicide timing, whatever you choose. But it definitely likes the lower pH as well. So don't forget that, you know, 00:01:14 it talks on the jug about nothing greater than seven. Man. We really like it around five. So give source a try, you know, see what you think about it 00:01:24 and, um, see what it, how it works for you. But we're gonna lean on it a little bit further here and put it in a situation to where you know 41 00:01:31.805 --> 00:01:33.245
