Farming Video | Breaking Down the New S7 800 Combine with Matt and Chris

12 Dec 254m 36s

Chris Miller from AgUp gives a boots-on-the-ground walk-through of the new S7 800 combine while riding along with Matt Miles. This ain’t your average field demo—it’s a look at how real farmers are running cutting-edge machines in real harvest conditions. Chris explains features like predictive ground speed automation, forward-facing cameras, digital unloading auger views, and fatigue-fighting harvest automation that takes some of the pressure off when you’re running sunup to midnight.

00:00:00 So guys, I've got Chris now out in the field. Uh, you know, we talked a little bit about the operations set up, the pre-setup of the combines, uh, the crazy stuff, 00:00:08 it learning in the field for whatever goes in the field. Uh, we've asked as farmers for, for, you know, 00:00:13 this technology for, for a different technology combine. You know, a lot of the cutters out there 00:00:18 are putting out different stuff and I think, I think be careful what you wish for. 'cause y'all come with a machine that, that is, is got a lot 00:00:25 of stuff on it and, and it's, it's stuff that's gonna make us money. You know, it, it's stuff that costs money, 00:00:31 but if something costs money, it would cost a dollar and make me two. I'm all about it. So, uh, we're just gonna kind 00:00:36 of give you a walk around of the, combine, the different features on the outside. Then Chris is going to get, get in and make a round on it. 00:00:42 Show you all the different things that, that I don't even know a whole lot about yet. You know, this is new technology to me. 00:00:47 Chris has been studying it. I'm sure y'all have had a bunch of classes on it. Uh, he knows this combine inside and out. 00:00:52 This is the S seven 800 is a combine that we're talking about. We're running two of these this year against our, you know, 00:00:59 just our regular, regular machines. Our regular S seven 80. So, uh, also got X nine out here running around too. 00:01:05 So we've got some of the new technology. There's some pretty impressive stuff here. Uh, you know, for, for the data side, for the operator side, 00:01:12 we're just gonna do a walk around of the, combine the key features from the outside and uh, then we'll take it down the road. 00:01:19 So we'll start on the front of the combine that all the new combines now come with integrated 7,000 or 7,500 receivers that come factory with SF one. 00:01:31 Some of our farmers like Matt Miles Farms, they'd like to go S-F-R-T-K, the satellite RTK system that we have. And then we have the new forward facing cameras. 00:01:42 This is reading 30 feet out in front of our combine to adjust our predictive ground speed automation that we have, uh, integrated into this S seven 800. 00:01:52 Now we'll move on to the new camera system that we have here, which is, uh, digital now for the unloading auger. 00:02:00 So the operator can see directly into the grain tank while he is, uh, unloading on the go. It makes it a lot better for him to be able to see 00:02:09 where we're at, how much grain's actually in there and 'cause before you would only see it when it got to the top, you can't really see down into the grain cart. 00:02:18 Also, we have the adjustable spout on, uh, this grain cart. So the combine operator can operate that spout as he's going 00:02:26 to adjust in and out where he wants that grain flowing. Now that We're in the cab, we'll come over 00:02:33 to our harvest automation and we'll come to our grain losses. And when you pull this screen up, it'll have the recommended 00:02:41 area that wants you to be for this crop. So here we it 4.0 on grain losses form material mat and lane wanna be at 4.0 00:02:51 and they're our broken grain 4.0 as well. Once we get those settings turned on, we already have our harvest automation on. 00:02:59 We have checked it, we're at 105% kilowatts and we have a maximum Speed of 3.5 miles per hour. 00:03:08 We are now unloading on the go and our new digital cameras on the unloading auger make it easier. 00:03:17 You have to see what's going on in the grain cart itself while you're unloading. Also, when you stop the auger, 00:03:27 it's nice having the automated, uh, cleaning out system that runs auger for three and a half seconds to unload 00:03:34 and the adjustable spout that automatically goes to the whole position. Guys, one thing that I think, you know, 00:03:41 with this new automation, you know, we've been, we've been 15, 16 days without a break, right? It hadn't rained. Uh, we're running these machines, 00:03:49 it's time we get 'em servicing everything eight 30 in the morning until eight 30 in the midnight. 00:03:54 You know, just depends on, on what field we're in when we finish up. That puts a lot of fatigue on a driver. 00:03:59 Um, with the new technology, the cameras the look ahead, you know, instead of George having to go in there 00:04:06 and manually set stuff when the do falls right. You know, this machine act actually goes in there and sets itself. 00:04:10 And do you think that's, do you think you're less fatigued? I know you're fatigued 'cause the hours we put in, 00:04:16 but do you think you're less fatigued on a machine like this than you would be on, on one 00:04:19 of the older style machines? Oh Yeah, absolutely. So it's making a big difference. Big difference. What's your favorite part about this combine? 105 00:04:27.125 --> 00:04:30.405
