Hi, this is Kelly Garrett from Extreme Ag. I'm out here with Alex Obermeyer of Pivot Bio. We're gonna do a root dig on our applied
00:00:07
and unapplied pivot bio trial here today. I didn't know if we'd see anything. It's a wet day, things like that.
00:00:14
Uh, very early in the season. Looks like we've got, you know, some four leaf corn here, but we can definitely see something.
00:00:21
It uh, it looks pretty exciting. Alex is digging here in the applied area and I don't know if the camera can pick it up,
00:00:28
but we can clearly see on the guess row here. This corn is a little taller, it's a little greener. And then we get here into the unapplied area.
00:00:37
The corn is paler, doesn't look like it's, uh, quite as vigorous. Things like that. And then we can get over here.
00:00:44
And like I said, I don't know if the camera can pick it up. We get back into these rows over here where the, uh,
00:00:50
applied is again and it becomes greener. This row right here, I can clearly see it. This corresponds to what we have on our planning map.
00:00:58
I sure know Alex is excited as he's digging plants over here. Uh, we will, uh, we'll take these up on the pickup
00:01:04
and lay 'em out and see what the root system looks like on applied versus unapplied.
00:01:08
Alright, we're up here with Alex. We got the plants on the board. You can clearly see that they are, uh,
00:01:15
they're bigger with the pivot. Alex, what do you, what do you see? This is a kind of exciting,
00:01:20
I didn't expect to see this. Yeah, So like how you mentioned earlier in this video, the really cool thing is we went out there trying
00:01:26
to decide exactly where we were and where the untreated and treated was. And that stood out just nine day difference to where you had
00:01:32
so many rows that were completely green and then another set of 24 rows that were pale and kind of ugly looking.
00:01:38
So we went out there and found out obviously the green rows we were in the treated untreated was kind of the pale rows.
00:01:44
What I get asked a lot is what do our microbes do early? Because obviously the plant doesn't need
00:01:48
nitrogen in that early growth stage. But as what you can see is we have already built a bigger root system.
00:01:54
We're an entire growth stage ahead already. And so what we're trying to do here is we're building that bigger factory to help push that yield increase.
00:02:01
Which the really cool thing is this is the same nitrogen rate, it's just 40 pounds less across the board here.
00:02:07
So we're comparing the exact same nitrogen rate, which obviously we'll have to end up taking this to yield. But as you can see right now, especially when we've had
00:02:15
probably 10 days or so, Kelly, of this kind of cool wet weather, these plants are already still looking that much better.
00:02:21
And we want our corn plants to always have a good day. We don't want 'em to have a bad day. 'cause every time they have a bad day,
00:02:26
your yield just starts going down and down. And as you can see, we're protecting that yield from the get-go.
00:02:32
So the plants with the proven are definitely having better days. I mean, it's a growth stage ahead. Yeah.
00:02:36
And we've been short of some heat here, things like that. Yeah. We're short some gdu
00:02:40
and they're still starting to outpace like that. On an earlier video that we made, it was pointed out what the expense of the proven was,
00:02:47
but the proven here cost about the same for me as 40 pounds of nitrogen. And you can see the proven is is working. It is, yeah.
00:02:55
We do have to take it to yield. Yes, we do have to take everything to yield, but this is exciting to look at today.
00:03:01
Yeah. From where it's at today and what the growth stages are, I think we're setting the stage for
00:03:05
what yield is gonna end up being later on in the year. But as of right now, this is starting 00:03:10.245 --> 00:03:11.165
