How I Set Up My Strip Till Rig and Program
Chad Henderson from XtremeAg shares insights into effective strip-till practices, focusing on the importance of precision and proper equipment setup.
00:00:00 Hey y'all, this is Chad Henderson Stream Ag and I wanna talk to you just a second about our strip tail rig and how we're doing this. 00:00:08 So one of the things, you know, there's multiple things that you've learned over the years and mine is, well, I don't, I don't know a lot 00:00:16 of times what I've learned. But anyway, let's skip to the strip tilling. So with that, we're going 00:00:21 to talk just a second about the guidance. You know, we run on RTK here and we've got a ball on the tractor, RTK, 00:00:29 and then we got a ball on a strip till rig, you know, RTK. And we've learned that 'cause we strip till with 12. 00:00:34 We run a strip freshener with 24 and then we plant 24. And so we straddle that edge where when we make a round with our, with our 12 row strip tail, then we straddle it 00:00:47 and we've got 24 there. Um, but it has been a necessity for us even over the terraces and a little bit of rolling terrain. 00:00:54 We got to keep this thing in line and that's one thing we've learned with strip tilling is stay on it. 00:01:00 Because when you set the planter up for strip tail, it's set up for strip tail when you set up for no-till, set up for no-till so it don't go back and forth. 00:01:07 So when you get off that strip, that's one of the worst things that we've seen is getting off that strip. 00:01:11 Then the planter's not set right, you know, our downforce helps. Deere's done a good job with that. 00:01:17 And a downforce, it'll compensate, but it won't compensate for planter setup up. So if you're going to do this, 00:01:25 make sure you have a ball implement. We also have a ball implement on the planter. We also have a ball implement on the strip pressure. 00:01:32 If you need to talk about that, contact your local John Deere dealer, hit us up at extreme Ag 00:01:38 and we'll talk about how important it is to stay on that zone, stay on that bed and get, and get the job done. It'll make your planting better, it'll make your life better 00:01:46 and it'll make your corn crop better. There you go. Just a little small tidbit of what I've learned. 50 00:01:54.115 --> 00:01:54.865
