Hi, this is Kelly Garrett. I'm here with Mike Evans. We're out here putting the VIBE trial on. It's the only flat field that Garrett landed cattle owns.
00:00:06
So this is a big treat today. No hills for you. Burns behind us here, putting in the trial. Mike, tell us about what's going on in this trial.
00:00:13
There's a couple different components to it. Yes. I wanna make a note. This is 30 acres, so it's not that big of a flat fly anyways.
00:00:20
Oh yeah, we're doing VI here today. Um, so what we did last year, we did a, this is the same field we were on actually,
00:00:26
and what we're doing today is we've staggered out the products. So we're gonna have an untreated check
00:00:30
with our grower standard practice. Then we added in lan, which is the Matt side. Yep. Then we got LAN plus the asteroid, which is the fungicide.
00:00:38
So we got a cyte fungicide together and then we added the by fender at the end. So we got three products here to test out.
00:00:44
Just a way to stack on and see if, what adds to the program To see which one has the biggest ROI
00:00:49
or if the combination does. Yeah. And you know, with all of the no-till corn stalks, we have all of the no-till corn on corn.
00:00:55
We have the disease and the insect pressure can be very prevalent. We always talk about the fusarium
00:01:01
and the pythium that's in our soils. The insects that can be in the soils. We're always looking for more
00:01:06
and more protection for our no-till corn on Corn. One thing we wanted to, uh, segment the aver land
00:01:10
and the maite out 'cause there is root corn, root rooms and this coming a little bit more popular term pest, so to speak, that people are paying attention to.
00:01:17
So we wanted to segment that out just to see what that product, do we have more nematode issues than we think we do.
00:01:22
So that, that's one of the reasons we did it this way. Yeah. You know, like we, we really feel like with integrated ag and calibrated agronomy, I really think
00:01:28
that we're dialing in on the fertility part of the agronomy equation. But, uh, this disease
00:01:34
and insect pressure is becoming a bigger and bigger thing. I think it's a bigger problem than what we give credit to
00:01:39
and we're really trying to figure that out. So stay tuned. This is a very involved trial, great trial to learn about, uh, crop protection.
