Farming Video | Matt Miles' Cotton Trial Shows ROI Win With CERT-N by Pivot Bio

Matt Miles shares a cotton harvest update that’s all about results—and the numbers don’t lie. He ran a split-planter trial with CERT-N from Pivot Bio, treating every other six rows across a 60-acre field. The treated rows brought in a 33 lb/acre lint increase—even on already high-yielding cotton. At $0.70 cotton, that’s a return of $20–$25 an acre from a $15 input. Add quicker maturity and better nitrogen stability in sandy soils, and Matt’s verdict is clear: CERT-N earns its keep.

00:00:00 Hey guys, Matt Miles with Extreme Ag, just a harvest report on the, uh, pivot by certain, of course, you've seen all the videos where we use the, you know, 00:00:09 the proven and then we went to this G three product on corn Outstanding Results. Had a pivot trial this year with certain on Cotton. 00:00:17 Did one last year at positive results. Did one this year and really we kind of spiced it up this year, so we loaded half the planter 00:00:24 with the, uh, certain and half the planter with no certain, so every six rows across the 60 acre field 00:00:31 had the certain on it. So we was able to pick that in a, in a 12 row system because outside six and then turn it back in. 00:00:37 Anyway, having said that, uh, we went across the field. It was the highest yielding field picked on our farm. On the yield results. We had a 33 pound lint increase. 00:00:49 After you take the seed out, you know, from the cotton, we had a 33 pound lin increase across the field that's on really high yielding cotton too. 00:00:56 So, you know, the lower, the cotton gets lower, the yield gets. Maybe it's more important to have that product out there, 00:01:01 but you think 33 pounds, well that's not a whole lot. Well, 33 pounds at 70 cents by the time you get your rebate and all your gin and stuff back, you know, 00:01:09 that's gonna be upwards of $20 an acre. So 20 to $25 an acre, we spend 15 next year. The product's gonna be 15, 15, 50, roughly a $10 return out 00:01:20 of a $15 investment. So, in my opinion, especially in today's time, if I give you a dollar 00:01:26 and you gimme a dollar 25 cents back, I'm gonna do that all day long. So we're real happy with the product last year. 00:01:32 We're happy with the product this year. It also seemed to mature the cotton a little bit quicker. We didn't look at the gray difference. 00:01:40 We just looked at the yield this year. So, uh, if you're thinking about trying, you know, any products to help with nitrogen, I think the, 00:01:47 the Pivot bio products are really good products to use. Uh, like I said, the G three, uh, trial on us with the corn was, was pretty outstanding. 00:01:55 It was eye-opening. Every year we've seen a positive return on ROI with the pivot bow. 00:02:01 You know, our sandy soils leach a lot, a lot of the nitrogen goes away. This is a st stable nitrogen that you can put in. 00:02:08 The soil naturally draws nitrogen from the atmosphere 00:02:12.945 --> 00:02:15.445
