Farming Video | Johnny Verell Tests N-FINITY for Better Nitrogen Efficiency

25 Jun 251m 32s

Johnny Verell with XtremeAg shares insights from his trial using N-FINITY, a nitrogen reduction product from Agricen. He explains how they’re aiming to boost plant health naturally while cutting input costs and improving ROI. Johnny details their test of multiple application methods, like 2x2 placement and Y-drop, to find what fits their operation best. What stood out to him is N-FINITY’s unique three modes of action, designed to capture nitrogen from air, soil, and soil biology. With hopes of reducing nitrogen use by 5–15%, Johnny sees big potential, especially in tight supply years when every pound of UAN counts.

00:00:00 Johnny Verell Extreme Ag. We're always trying to figure out new ways to be more efficient, cut our, you know, cut our, uh, 00:00:06 nutrients that we're using, try to get a better ROI and actually get a better, healthier plant, you know, naturally. 00:00:11 So there's a lot of products on the market that kind of help you do that, you know, that help you reduce the amount of nitrogen that you're putting out. 00:00:17 And one of the trials we're doing this year is with Gerson. And so Gerson has got a new product coming to the market. 00:00:22 It's called Infinity, and we've been using nitrogen reduction products for the last several years. They work really well on our farm. 00:00:28 We really kind of hone in on how they work specifically for our soil type and how we're using our nitrogen throughout the year. 00:00:34 And so with Infinity, they say there's multiple ways you can put it out, and you can put it out two by two, or you could come back 00:00:39 and wire drop with it later on or stream it. So we did a couple different ways this year to see which way was gonna work best for us 00:00:45 or when we're gonna get the best, you know, response with the product. So we did that. And, you know, 00:00:49 and one thing that kind of caught my eye with this company was, is that they said that, you know, their product actually has three modes of action. 00:00:55 And most of these companies out there do not have three modes of action. So this is three modes of action. 00:00:59 It's gonna actually pull out of three different forms of nitrogen that's available through the air, through the soil, through the biology 00:01:04 of the soil, stuff like that. So that's a big deal for us. So hopefully a product like this will work for us. 00:01:09 You know, they're saying it's gonna be a five to 15% reduction in nitrogen. That'll be big, especially on years, like this year 00:01:14 where we couldn't get all the UAN that we wanted. We had to beg and borrow and steal the UAN to get the crop put in this year. 00:01:20 So being able to reduce 10 to 15 pounds, five to 15 pounds of nitrogen would be a big deal for us going forward. 47 00:01:25.925 --> 00:01:27.545
