Kevin Matthews provides a step-by-step walkthrough for calibrating the advanced TCM (Terrain Compensation Module) on John Deere StarFire 6000 or newer receivers. It emphasizes the importance of proper TCM calibration to ensure accurate pass-to-pass spacing, better AutoPath performance, and consistent implement alignment, particularly when using mismatched planter and header sizes. Kevin Matthews demonstrates how to navigate the display interface, conduct the calibration process at a consistent low speed, and highlights its benefits in rolling terrain with implement guidance systems. The video concludes with confirmation of calibration success for both displays and encourages regular use of this feature for optimal field performance.

00:00:00 All right, it's time to go to the field. We got everything ready. Hey, for some reason we're planting our pass to pass. 00:00:08 It's a little bit off. We gotta implement guidance. Don't know what's going on. Right here is something that's a, a nice feature 00:00:16 that you need to be taking advantage of. It's your advanced TCM calibration. This is very important that you do this 00:00:23 on your John Deere displays. It really makes the pass to pass work better. It makes your auto path work better. 00:00:30 And it's really nice when the sprayer comes in behind the field and when you're actually out in the, um, combine and you go to pick, 00:00:38 let's say maybe your header don't match your planter swath. You got a 16 row head, you got a 24 row planter, vice versa, 00:00:45 eight row, 12 row, whatever you wanna say end of the day. You want each pass to be exactly the same distance apart 00:00:52 as your row spacing. So you can't tell where the planter went. And this is one of the nice features when you got a Starfire 00:00:58 6,000 or newer receiver. This is something that's very important to do. So we're going to get this done and y'all can watch 00:01:05 and go along with me. All right, so we're gonna go to our menu button. We're gonna go to applications. 00:01:12 We're gonna scroll down to where, see star fire It star Fire right here in the lower corner. Advanced TCM Calibration. 00:01:21 We're going to hit that Begin calibration. Alright, we're going go next. Now we're going to set point A. 00:01:32 We're going to hit done and now it's draw the line. So we're going to drive and we gotta keep it under four mile an hour. 00:01:40 We're going to engage our auto track, hit engaged just like normal. It's very important that you keep your speed the same. 00:01:47 I've got it set about 2.9 mile an hour. It's going to fluctuate 2.9 to three. We're gonna drive all the way to the end 00:01:54 of this line right here. Then we're gonna turn around and drive back, and then that will complete the calibration. 00:02:02 We do have implement guidance on this tractor and planter. We run that on all of our planters 00:02:07 with our rolling geography. That makes a huge difference. So if, if you're rolling hills, 00:02:11 you definitely wanna do that. All righty. So the planter's about to pass that point. Alright, so now we're going to turn around 00:02:19 and we're gonna get right back on the same track. This is the same thing for any John Deere implements with a 6,000 receiver or newer. 00:02:27 You can do that. Uh, we do our combines. We do our sprayers, especially the sprayer. Very important, especially when you're running an auto path 00:02:34 that you perform this extra calibration above and beyond what you'd normally do. Alrighty, so we're back on just like normal. 00:02:43 We're going to engage. It is engaged. You gotta be very close to get it to engage during this calibration. 00:02:54 Remember, you gotta maintain the same speed and we're still at that 2.9 to three mile hour range. Alright, it just completed it. 00:03:02 Notice that it says both displays are calibration succeeded on the following receivers that we done both at one time. 00:03:11 We're going to hit okay and we're going to exit out and we are up to date and ready to go back to the field. And this thing should do a phenomenal job. 00:03:22 I hope this helps you. If you have any questions, email us that extreme bag and we will fix you guys. 78 00:03:26.865 --> 00:03:29.805
