Good afternoon, everyone. Mike Evans here, Calibrated Agronomy, coming to you with an in-the-office XtremeAg Report.
00:00:08
Looking at John Deere Operations Center today and how important it is to how we handle data at Kelly's
00:00:16
farm. He's all John Deere, obviously, and we really value getting all the data correct because when it comes to the end of the season when we're combining,
00:00:29
the combines tell us a story. Collecting that yield data and having all the pertinent data in our hands in a timely manner is really
00:00:37
important. And Operations Center's really helped that by streamlining a lot of the data management tools. We use it extensively here. Kelly's got three
00:00:50
24-row planters for corn. We got an air seeder for beans, small grains, and we also got two sprayers that he runs.
00:00:59
And there's a lot of data management that goes into that with all the trials that we do
00:01:04
and trying to figure out where stuff's placed. Also with the variable rate seeding, making sure all the scripts are right to the right field.
00:01:14
Looking at what Operations Center does, the work planner tool functionality in there, if you haven't used it, take a look at it because it has really streamlined
00:01:23
all the things we need to go to the machines and make it easier for the operators. These guys run 14-hour days when we're planting hard.
00:01:30
Keeping it simple is always nice. So work planner makes that easy. You can set up all your fields.
00:01:38
This is for corn, what I'm showing right here. But we can put on all our varieties, seeding racks, along with the AutoPath files if we have those.
00:01:46
And they're all imported by the field, and I can send them to all three corn tractors, and they're all loaded in there.
00:01:53
Becomes important to the data sync function that we run. Sometimes we're running two corn planters in the same field, and they got to be
00:02:00
jiving with information so they all see each other for the shutoffs, for the guidance lines, and everything.
00:02:07
So the work planner's really simplified this and made it streamlined. It's a couple clicks, set it up, pick your fields, load the data,
00:02:15
and then you just send it off here to the machines, and it gets in there to show you how simple it is for the
00:02:21
operators to import this stuff and save them some tasks, some button pushes, errors. Because when it comes down to harvest, like I said,
00:02:31
getting that information, having the correct information in hand, we're all making management decisions in the combine anymore.
00:02:38
We're not even finished combining, you're trying to figure out seed for next year, crop rotations, fertility plans,
00:02:44
and having that more accessible is so much better. But the work planner has been a great asset from John Deere 00:02:53.000 --> 00:02:56.630
