Temple Rhodes teams up with Kyle and Burt Riggin from Concept AgriTek to showcase a powerful new tool for real-time tissue sampling using Leaf Tech scanners. This game-changing technology allows farmers to instantly assess nutrient levels in the field, eliminating lab wait times and offering faster, more targeted decision-making. They break down how this innovation improves application timing, identifies problem areas, and supports smarter agronomic planning for future seasons. With the ability to scan as often as needed, this tool offers major time savings and cost efficiency—especially for large-scale operations.

00:00:00 Hey guys, it's Temple. I'm here with, um, Kyle, she and Burt Riggin today from Concept Agritech. So they got, they got this new tool out today. 00:00:08 Um, it's actually taken real time tissue samples. You know, we talk about tissue samples all the time and one of the things that we talk about is like, you know, 00:00:16 I've got a ton of data, you know, for years and years and years, but I've compiled data with like, I mean, how many years has they been out? 00:00:23 20, 25 years. Yeah. Yeah. I've got at least that much data, like from the very first start. 00:00:28 So I got a pretty good, you know, data set. But like, this right here is a game changer. 'cause like right now we're sending tissue samples off. 00:00:36 We, I was lucky enough in my area where we had a, a, a company that was, you know, 30 minutes down the road so I could take 'em there in the morning and that afternoon 00:00:45 or early next morning, I would have it back and I could really kind of fine tune, Hey, I need to make this, this, this happen, or I'm falling here, 00:00:54 or I'm seeing a decline. So I can start to make an application for maybe later on. But this actually can really put things in perspective 00:01:01 for us as far as like being able to do it right now, right here and actually get something back. So Kyle, you wanna talk about that thing 00:01:07 for just a minute? So These leaf tank scanners, they make it really easy, like Temple said, to take tissue samples immediately 00:01:13 and you can take as many as you want. Uh, you know, you can sample different areas of the field to see if you have, you know, a certain problem area versus 00:01:19 before if you're sent off tissue sample, you know, that costs a lot of money if you start pulling tissue samples every 10 feet or something like that, right? 00:01:25 But you can do this as often as you want in the field. If you want to. You can go out there every day and pull a leaf sample or tissue scan. Well, 00:01:30 I like, I mean if you think about it, like if you get like a bad spot in the field, right? And you have an area you're like, oh God, you know, 00:01:38 this area in this low ground. Like what is it, what is so much different about it? Because you treated the whole field differently 00:01:44 or the same, you know, 'cause if you're not running on a prescription or whatever, right? The whole field was treated basically the same. 00:01:50 Why is the balance so far off on this area versus that area? That would, it would be the learning tool 00:01:56 that I would be able to get from it. Well, sure, and like Kyle said, uh, you know, time and cost are, are a big thing. 00:02:03 So with this, you know, tool, you can scan and, you know, within a matter of minutes, maybe a half hour or so, you can, you know, have your results come in. 00:02:13 Then you can take that and export that into an Excel file and you can graph it and you can take a look at that over 00:02:19 what your soil tests are showing so that you can really dial in to what exactly is going on, not only in the soil, but also how the plants are reacting 00:02:28 in that environment. And I know that having one of these tools is very expensive. Like we know that it's a lease on it. 00:02:35 You don't buy 'em, it's a lease on it. But if you were gonna be able to get the value out of tissue sampling or SAP sampling, whatever you wanna do, 00:02:43 if you could get the value out of that and be able to, to make multiple, um, things done, what would it cost a larger scale farmer to have 00:02:51 to go out there and send all them off all year long? You know, this kind of investment at it at that point doesn't really sound that bad. 00:02:59 No, it doesn't. And you know, with the way concept agritech has, has worked in the past as far as, you know, setting up farmer dealers 00:03:08 and, you know, small retailers and things like that, like myself, like you, it can really help you grow your business. 00:03:13 Especially if you track, you know, real time data that you give to somebody and they make a decision to make an application. 00:03:22 You can tie that back in and do your cost benefit analysis and, you know, you can increase your, your sales quite a bit 00:03:29 by providing quality realtime data to these folks Well, and actually making a difference. You know, that's the problem. 00:03:35 Like how many people have said, oh, I made this Fuller application and I never saw a result. Well, why did you make the Fuller application? 00:03:42 Well, my retailer told me that this product has worked really well on Joe Blow's field down the street. 00:03:49 Well, when was it applied? What did you apply? Was it applied at the right time? Maybe it made a a difference. 00:03:54 But then a lot of people are like, well, we didn't really see a a result. Well with this, you're actually stacking some serious data, 00:04:02 like quick, fast in a hurry. That's the biggest thing I think is the speed. Because I'm sure you give people plenty 00:04:08 of notice when you want to go do something. I mean, you, oh yeah, Two weeks ahead, 30, 40 seconds tops. 00:04:13 So with this, you know, all I have to do is come out here, put a leak in, make sure it's flat, hit a button 00:04:21 and about 10 seconds the scan itself is done. And long as you have pretty decent signal, five, 10 minutes, you have the results and you can go load your sprayer. So 00:04:29 You can like just walk in the field and like sample after sample after sample sample, sample sample. And you get almost like, I don't wanna say grid sample, 00:04:36 but like you could actually go to the problem areas, go to your good areas, and actually start to think about maybe not, Hey, 00:04:43 am I gonna make an application right now? Is that gonna make a difference? If it's already showing deficiency, there's a really good chance 00:04:49 that we're not gonna be able to make a difference. But if you can put that in the back of your mind that this inherently happens on my fields, 00:04:57 now you can make decisions on what does my program look like next year? What have I put out there that I have over applied? 00:05:03 What have I put out there that I have underlied and then make real decisions. The other thing that's that's unique about it is, uh, 00:05:10 concept agritech has worked with Leaf Tech in order to put together our own sufficiency scales that are tied more yield than 00:05:23 what like a traditional tissue sample report is. So, you know, if you send it into x, y, Z labs and they've taken in 10 million tissue samples 00:05:32 for this growth stage over the 20 years they've been in business, when it comes back sufficient, that means that you're just in the middle of all 00:05:40 of those results for those 10 million. Good, Bad and indifferent. Yeah, It really doesn't have anything to do with teeth. 00:05:46 Here's the real problem as well. You're not really average. 'cause why, who pulls the tissue sample 00:05:53 and why do you pull it? You don't pull it because you're like, I have a perfect crop here. 00:05:58 I don't have, I don't see any deficiencies. I am at the height of my game. That's not the guy pulling tissue samples. 00:06:05 The guy pulling tissue samples is like, I have a problem here and I'm gonna send a tissue sample off 00:06:10 and I'm gonna figure out what's going on. Mm-hmm. That's who's doing it. The big thing is that you get actionable intel. 00:06:18 So if you are sufficient, let's say based off of v you know of concept scale and you know, you're heading into, you know, 00:06:27 if you do this at V 10 and you know you're fixing to get into, you know, vt, you know that plant's gonna pull more. 00:06:33 So if you're sufficient, you need to preload that plant before it gets to that pool. Because ideally when you're looking at tissue samples, 00:06:41 you don't wanna see Spike Valley. Spike Valley, you wanna see more of a blended curve because every time you have a spike, everything looks great, 00:06:49 but when it plummets again, that's yield loss. Yeah. That's Like a sugar high, Right? 00:06:53 It's like giving a Snickers bar to, you know, 5-year-old at 10 o'clock at night, right? You know, spike crash, spike crash. 00:07:00 At least with this product and this technology, you can perform more scans and make better decisions so that you can keep that 00:07:11 nutrient curve more like what it's supposed to look like instead of a Wall Street stock market graph. So this is what I like guys, when you're talking 00:07:20 to a company like Concept Agritech, they kind of go out on a limb and they look at things a little bit differently. 00:07:24 They're pushing the technology forward and they're steady building for us as growers and as retailers. 00:07:30 So if they can help you out, call 'em at concept agritech.com. 00:07:34.125 --> 00:07:34.685
