Efficiency Trial on Fertility Rates for Corn Yields

19 Oct 242m 21s

Chad Henderson from XtremeAg conducted a 40-acre trial focused on testing different fertility rates for corn at various price points ($4, $6, and $8 corn). This trial aimed to identify how varying inputs, such as different levels of dry fertilizer (50, 125, and 200 pounds) in strip-till fields, impact corn yields. They also explored the effects of additional fungicide and fertilizer applications.

00:00:01 Hey y'all, this is Chad Henderson with Extreme Ag and I'm out here with my buddy Rob from Magne Liquid. How you doing Chad? I'm gonna make it, 00:00:07 We're gonna do just fine. Oh, we didn't know that this morning. No. Did We We started off kind of rough. 00:00:11 The struggle is real. The struggle is real. So we come out here today together on lab. You know, we have a lab trial 00:00:18 and um, it's a lab is consist of 40 acres, so you get 40 acres of trial work. And this year it was something like an 00:00:25 efficiency trial, I guess. Yep. You know, we're looking at the markets, we're looking at the fact of having $4, $6, $8 corn. 00:00:31 So we said, heck, let's do this. We'll do 10 acres or 15 acres of each. Yep. $4, $6, $8 corn against my regular check 00:00:39 and we'll let the rough inch drag. Let's talk about the fertility side of That. So we came in 00:00:43 with the strip field. Yep. And then we put uh, 50 pounds of dry of dry in through the strip drill and then we went 1 25. 00:00:50 Yep. And then we did 200 pounds and That replicated to four, six, and eight. That's right. And we come about those numbers 00:00:55 because we figured that it is it from anywhere from 17 to 20% that people will use of their budget for the dry fertility. 00:01:02 That's right. So we took that number, we, this irrigated corn. We said, Hey, we want a budget up budget 00:01:07 for 250 bushel corn. We just back math it and then we figured out where we could plug and play with the money with $8 corn. 00:01:13 You know, we had all kind of money we was to foyers, we was infer we was four, five gallons. Like we just spending money like it was water. 00:01:21 You know, when we got down to the four, I was at 50 to 50 pounds of dry and I was like, heck, I don't even know if I can, 00:01:27 I don't even know if I can put a whole FA foer in with my herbicide. You know, because Absolutely. I mean, 00:01:31 it gets thin in a hurry. And Then we, we applied our fungicide application once Yep. On the 50 pounds, twice on the 125 pounds. 00:01:40 Yep. One wide dropping. One Wide dropping, Then two dry wide dropping, Then three applications on the 200 pounds. 00:01:45 Yeah. As we went across the field. And we had a beautiful day to come out here in Madison, Alabama and, and harvest these trials. 00:01:51 Yeah. And we appreciate all the hard work that you all do. Of course. Extreme 00:01:55 Mag. Yeah. I appreciate, I appreciate you putting up with me. I appreciate Hey, we Had a good day after Good Day. Had 00:02:00 A good day After everything that Happened. Stay tuned. Extreme Mag, 00:02:03 we'll get to all these results to you. We'll have all of it laid out. I know Rob, Stephanie Galen. They'll get this printed up where it's real nice, 00:02:10 you know, and all the data's there. We can't give it to you yet. But you're going to be surprised. We 71 00:02:14.685 --> 00:02:16.045
