All right. I'm Galen Beer with Title Grow Ag. I'm standing here in the field today with Mr. Nelson Rentz, who put in
00:00:07
an XtremeAg plot with his XtremeAg membership. Right. So we're out here to film this video today. First of all, we did Oceanic. How was it to handle?
00:00:20
What'd you think when you put it out? It was easy. They already had it pre-mixed in the tank. No issues at all. It just in same as
00:00:29
anything. Yeah. And we're standing here in a field. People think when you have irrigation, you've got it made, but in reality, you don't have a ton of irrigation here.
00:00:38
No, this is pretty limited by our standards. It's 400 gallons per minute per half a circle, and it takes about 10 days to put
00:00:48
an inch and a quarter across the whole thing. And in a July 100-degree day, we can evaporate that in a day, can't we?
00:00:55
Yeah. Yeah. So kind of our goal here is to just do what we can to build a better root system and a healthier plant, because unlimited irrigation
00:01:05
and in a hot, arid environment, we're trying to give it all the chance we can. What do you think? We dug a couple plants here.
00:01:12
The Oceanic is on our right, and it's bigger stalk. It seems to have a little bigger root system. I don't know if it's any greener than the other, but just
00:01:24
initial observations. Yeah, and we didn't cherry-pick a plant, but we also aren't doing an exact side by side. But I think that if I had to look, I'd say the root
00:01:33
system's a little better on the Oceanic. And for sure, the one we chose, it is thicker. Again, we didn't attempt to do that.
00:01:40
We tried to pick plants that were just in a good stand here. So what do you think? What would you like to see out of this?
00:01:50
And if you see good results, was it easy enough to use that you would adopt it? Yeah, we would. That would be a pretty easy thing to do.
00:01:57
If we could cut out a little bit of phos and replace it- Mm
00:02:00
... with the Oceanic, I think would be ideal. In this field in particular where we're standing, it's only 15,000 population.
00:02:10
If we could hit 150 bushel here in this spot, I would be ecstatic. Yeah. Well, you're off to a good start, and certainly like that the
00:02:19
Oceanic has the amino acids, the fatty acids. It's also got a biological component. Whether the biology in Oceanic wins out or your biology that
00:02:28
you're good about keeping here, and Nelson actually uses our biology for food, either way it would be a benefit in my book. So speak to the biology. And we strip tilled it
00:02:39
middle to end of February, no rainfall until the first of June. This was planted June the 9th. Do you think your biology survived the dry?
00:02:50
I do. And you and I have talked about this some, but biology is a little bit stronger, I think, than what we give it credit for a lot of times.
00:02:59
And so if it's dry, it's going to set there dormant, and the second it gets the right environment, it'll become active after that.
00:03:06
And you're awesome about leaving residue on the ground, which we know we need out here in this area.
00:03:12
So I think the second that you got some rain and then you irrigated, it came alive.
00:03:17
Good. And that's the goal is to break the residue down and put it back into the plant. We're got our stand established.
00:03:25
Our ground's not going anywhere now. We need to break down what was there- Yeah
00:03:29
... and get it back into this corn crop. Well, I'm impressed with your stand here. I'm impressed with early season results. I know you're
00:03:37
very picky about how you plant and how you monitor things, and so I know I'll get the yield results back, and I certainly love- ... to see those when it happens.
00:03:47
Right. For sure. Yeah, looking forward to seeing- Yeah ... how the rest of the season goes. Well, we appreciate you doing this for us, and it's handy for me it's not
00:03:56
far from my house. Right. So, I'll drive by and look at it frequently. For sure. Well, thank you.
