Johnny Rell, the extreme Ag. I'm out here today looking at some of these soybeans that are, you know, going into R five almost here now.
00:06
So they're about a week away from R five and the current conditions we got and you know, we made an application at R three
00:12
with a fungicide and some micronutrients and we used a product also that we started using two or three years ago on our farm called Source Made by Sound.
00:19
Ag and Source for us has been a big part of our, our whole operation. We use it on corn and and soybeans.
00:25
And you know, one of the things that we've seen, you know, we're out here pulling these TAP samples right now,
00:29
we're gonna send those off is when we apply that product, it helps balance the whole plant.
00:33
So not only do we elevate the phosphorus and elevate the nitrogen, but instead of running those two up
00:38
and some other nutrients going down, it allows those to be elevated and kind of keep the whole plant in balance. And that's one of the things that we always seem
00:44
to fight on our operation is sometimes when I hit something with a big slug of nitrogen or a big slug of boron
00:49
or phosphorus, it'll spike it in the plant and usually something else is getting hurt by that spike that's going on.
00:54
So for us, we started putting out source, I think this is going into our fourth year. We trialed it for a couple years
01:00
and now we use it on our whole farm. And you know, we kind of do things a little bit different and you start hearing more people talk about it.
01:05
But we reallocate some funds out of our, you know, pre-plant fertilize. You know, we cut a little bit of DAP back to help pay
01:12
for this application of source and you know, we're getting two different nutrients coming outta that source.
01:16
We're getting the nitrogen piece, so it helps that plant fixate more nitrogen and also does phosphorous solubilization.
01:22
And so we get a increased phosphorous load in that plant. And so that's been a big deal for us.
01:26
We've had really good results. We got several strips out this year where we did some side by side comparisons just to see.
01:31
And you know, sound is changing up a few things this coming year. You know, this year we were using, um,
01:36
a product called XC on our soybeans here. Next year we're going to DC and one of the reasons we're going to the DC product is
01:42
what we're seeing in the trials and what they're telling us, what they're seeing all across the country is, is instead of putting it on at R three,
01:47
we're actually gonna put it on in our herbicide, one of our herbicide shots, you know, early on in that plant's life, you know, that will allow that plant
01:53
to basically use that product to get more nitrogen and more phosphorous into that plant earlier on. So we're waiting late season out at R three
02:00
next year with a new product. They got DC formulation. It's gonna really be a game changer. We're gonna be able to put that product out early on
02:05
and probably start seeing better results early on with the plant and as far as the phosphorous load, but also help balance that plant
02:11
because that's the big thing we're going for.
