Hi, I'm Kelly Gear from Extreme Ag. We're here today at my field day standing in our agro liquid challenge plots.
00:00:05
You know, last year we had challenge plots at mats in the corn. This year I've got a challenge plot at Johnny's and Wheat.
00:00:11
This year we have a challenge plot down at Maps and Cotton, which is a pretty new, pretty new thing to me. I'm also here with Johnny Verell
00:00:18
and Matt Miles, my two partners in extreme ag. Matt is from Southeast Arkansas Farmer in Iowa This year Johnny's from West Tennessee Farmer in Iowa this year.
00:00:27
And we have someone from Michigan here today. Stephanie Linco, our good friend and business partner from Agro Liquid.
00:00:33
Stephanie's gonna tell you about the challenge plots we've got going on. Sure thing. So what we're doing
00:00:37
with all the challenge plots is we teamed up three of you guys, gave you some agro liquid support for positioning and then assigned you a crop, a method
00:00:45
of application and a fertilizer budget. So for here we're dealing with corn two by two with a $60 per acre budget.
00:00:52
And we're looking in focusing on nutrients beyond nitrogen going out two by two. I spent uh, 51 to $55 right in that range somewhere there.
00:01:01
And I have a wide range of micronutrients as I typically do, trying to achieve mineral balance in the plant.
00:01:07
It's much more important to me to than just to have nitrogen. There's so much nitrogen released from my soil here
00:01:12
that we're really trying to achieve mineral balance in the plant. And we do that with the wider wave of micronutrients. Yeah,
00:01:17
And and for me, you know, I kept it simple. I ran your NPKI threw in zinc 'cause Kelly always talked about how zinc's so important.
00:01:24
He knows it's a deficiency normally for him. He only ran a court. I went with a court and a half this year to see if that'd push me over the top,
00:01:29
but I barely stayed under budget doing that too. The Problem is if he beats you, he'll never let you live it down like you did me last year.
00:01:35
You should have threw the whole book at it. Yeah. You know, if I got three wishes from Agen in a bottle, one of 'em would be to be able to farm in Iowa.
00:01:41
So it's pretty cool for me to be out here and have, have a plot in Iowa. But we kind of did in between what these guys done,
00:01:47
a little bit less amount of products as Kelly, but more rates like you did. So we kind of hit in between.
00:01:52
We added some phosphorus tires. I may have an agri liquid specialist that that may have something to do with the Midwest.
00:01:59
So I, I think I've got a better chance here than I actually did on my own farm. So stay tuned for this fall.
00:02:04
We'll get all of these results summarized. Figure out who wins both on the yield side and then on that return on those fertilizer
00:02:10
dollars we've invested. I feel just like Matt did last year, I'm nervous to get beat on my home field. I see
00:02:17
What I Well it's just one application though. The two? The two to two. So Simple plant. Yeah, just planter
00:02:20
fertility and You screwed it all up with something already. So we're all gonna be the same. We Right.
