Farm Video | What’s in Your 2x2 Blend? Phosphorus and Potassium Strategies | XtremeAg
2 Apr 252m 22s

Chad Henderson from XtremeAg breaks down the details of his 2x2 blend. He explains that different blends vary in phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) levels depending on field needs. Today’s mix includes Total Phos (8-29-2) from Concept AgriTek, which provides early phosphorus uptake to kickstart plant growth.

00:00:00 Hey y'all, it's Chad Henderson with Extreme Ag and we're doing some videos tonight. And I know you'll see like, man, you're in the same setting. 00:00:06 Yes, we are. Tonight we're trying to knock out a few videos because this planting time and this planter's setting steel 00:00:12 and it's hard for me to do a video on the back of it when I'm driving in the front of it. So here we go. What we're gonna talk about right now is 00:00:18 what's in your two to two blend. So we have multiple two to two blends, right? You know, we'll have some that has lighter rates 00:00:25 of phosphorus and heavier rates of potassium. We'll have some that just has 28 and a good load of IC and you know, so we just blend it around what we need for 00:00:34 that farm and that day. So what, what we got going on today is, is we've got total fos from concept agritech. 00:00:42 What that is is the 8 29 2 and we all have, there's multiple 8 29 2 out there, but we wanna talk about wine, you know, 00:00:49 we're talking about the whys, what we're putting it down and you know everybody, you know, 00:00:52 there'll be somebody on here say, oh you're putting phosphorus right on top of the ground. It's just the simplest farm for me. 00:00:58 And you know, simple ain't always better, but simple is always simpler. And with that being said, I've gotta get the acres over. 00:01:05 I have one corn planter, we're gonna plant somewhere around 4,000 acres. I know that's not the best avenue to say either. 00:01:10 I gotta get over the acres. That's just not what we do as farmers, but it's still matters and it still has to work. This works well. With that being said, 00:01:19 we're gonna put about two gallon of phosphorus out. We like that 'cause it helps get the plant taken off early. We're going to put in about eight gallon of 28%, 00:01:28 about a quart to a half a gallon of IC and then a gallon of K. But the phosphorus, the uptake on that phosphorus 00:01:35 that they got with concept agritech is, you know, it does a good job. We like it in our plant. We like the way it takes it up. 00:01:43 And again, they have good combination with that and we need the phosphorus early. We also need, you know, me 00:01:49 and Temples talked about doing late season shots with it, but it just gets that plant off to a really good start. 00:01:55 So y'all giving boys a call up there they can help you with. They a lot better agronomist than I am. I promise you. 00:02:00 I'm just the operator and I am the send guy Temple thinks he's the send guy, I'm the send guy, original send guy. 00:02:07 So y'all, lemme know if I can help y'all with anything. Y'all holler at us that extreme mag. Y'all watch these videos, let us know what we're doing Good. 00:02:14 Let us know what we're doing bad 00:02:15.975 --> 00:02:17.555
